So on the surface it’s a biography of one of the greatest bands of our generation, but ends up taking you for quite a trip. As a huge Gorillaz head, I loved this book, but couldn’t recommend it in the least to someone who isn’t into them or even to someone who is looking to get into them.

The illustrations are beautiful and once gorillaz I was blown away by the talent that is Jamie Hewlett. I love absolutely everything about the creation of this band. Definitely a worthwhile read for any fan of rie band! Og still a fun read.

It is an essential purchase for a legion of fans. The book also tells the fictional accounts of the virtual band members, their origins and how they met, their bizarre yet hilarious adventures. This book was beyond awesome! This book reveals the whole story and meaning of the band and songs including their origins and “lives” from the beginning to the aftermath of Demon Days. As a fan of Gorillaz, Rise of the Ogre was a must-read for me.


This book is all you need if you’re a true Gorillaz fan I think those who like Gori Like a lot of other reviewers, I grew up listening to Gorillaz and enjoyed their music. They “think” they’re real. Rise of the Ogre is the definite encyclopedia of the virtual band Gorillaz. Some landscape renderings can be dark in tone or content such as zombies, garbage, graffiti, alcohol, etc. I love how it depicts Murdoc and how each person came to be. Concerning content, there are some PG to PGlevel profanities and crudities chiefly potty humor occur throughout though their usage is not excessive nor is it in a way to insult or demean anyone.

I find myself going over every element as I get the sense there is so much going on, I might miss an important and usually comedic detail. Why did I read this?
