Whether you are kakinoff beginning your journey or have been practicing yoga for years, Yoga Anatomy will be an invaluable resource-one that allows you to see each movement in an entirely new light.
If your knowledge on anatomy is yiga, this is still an exceptionally useful book, but it can also be overwhelming. I will die happy and limber. I do love the explanations for each asana, how different movements change the focus and stresses on the system, and I really like that the book starts out with basic anatomy lessons. From breathing to standing poses, see how each muscle is used, how slight alterations of a pose can enhance or reduce effectiveness, and how the spine, breathing, and body position are all fundamentally linked.
Refresh and try again. This section alone is worth the cost of the book!

It’s worth having a copy of this book for that alone. I liked both to read through this to glean principles and to be considering a certain pose and find it here by page number. The poses appear to be identical to those in the first edition, although supplementary variations are depicted here.
